Experience
I am a former special education teacher with 20 years' experience in working with children and youth with learning,organization, behavior and emotional disabilities in a variety of settings: public, correctional, group home. My specialty is engaging students with low motivation, ADHD and poor faith in their ability to succeed. I have tutored both middle and high school students in math, English,French, reading and study skills and enjoy very much the one-on-one relationship that gets established and the progress that occurs when the student finds his/her own strengths and engages in learning. In addition, with the addition of my French certification, I have had the opportunity to tutor high school students in French I and II and have thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot myself. I also lead workshops for women on pursuing our dreams and for women and girls on strengthening our mother/daughter relationships.
